For The Dollar General, I transcribed television talk show interviews from the 1960’s through 1980’s as well as a scene from Sesame Street. I re-staged the interviews and the scene in an abandoned Ford dealership in Hudson, New York. The film was shot over the course of year as the dealership was transformed into a Dollar General store. The interviews were with James Baldwin, Milton Friedman, Tennessee Williams and Ayn Rand
